IHH take aid to quake-stricken Pakistan and Iran
Joining emergency relief work in quake-stricken Pakistan and Iran, teams from IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation delivered food to the quake victims on border town of Balochistan.

IHH teams, which travelled to the region immediately after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Pakistan-Iranian border on April 16, have taken emergency relief items to the quake victims.

Separate teams which travelled both to Iran and Pakistan on the same day of the quake in order to make examinations and join search and rescue work had examinations in these countries with local officials.
IHH team, which made examinations in Saravan, the closest town to the epicenter of the quake, with Iranian Red Crescent, has also been one of the few civil society organizations conducting relief work in the quake region in Pakistan.

According to IHH examinations, 1,500 houses and 250 workplaces were completely demolished by the quake in Muskil town of Balochistan where IHH teams could reach after a challenging journey. Thirty-four people lost their lives while thousands of others were injured by the quake in the same town.

IHH team delivered food packages to the quake victims in Muskil, Mugribi Zirdag, Mashriki Zirdag, Ladgast, Kileng, Sotgan, Aggo, Mudassar and Kuli İsmail towns.

The food packages, which were delivered to 1,000 families, included flour, sugar, dried beans, cooking oil, rice, milk and tea.

While the IHH Search and Rescue Teams pulled 2,934 deceased and injured people from the rubble, emergency aid volunteers delivered support to hundreds of thousands of people in many different areas.

Search and rescue efforts continue in the areas affected by the earthquake. 65 search and rescue teams of IHH, consisting of 1447 people, are working together with 2 search and rescue dogs. IHH also continues its aid efforts in other ways such as providing food, shelter and clothing through an emergency aid distribution team consisting of 1728 people. IHH Chairman Bülent Yıldırım, Executive Board Members and 184 coordination officers are also in the earthquake area.
