IHH realizes projects apart from the humanitarian aid in Gaza where people are stuggling to survive under Israeli blockade. One of these projects is the vocational courses.

It is reported from IHH Gaza Office that one of the places hit during the last assault on Gaza is the women education centre in Khan Younis in Karara region. The centre has been running classes on sewing, embroidery and knitting over the past 6 years. The centre runs courses at 4 levels every year. Each level course lasts 3 months. There are around 60 students enrolled in each level at different courses.

The centre trains around 250 women every year. The graduands either find a job in various institutions or set up their own business to earn a living for their families. Khan Younis in Karara has a population around 70.000 most of which earn their living through agriculture and livestock.
