The training program included theoretical and practical sessions on topics such as the use of Sphere standards and the Sphere Handbook in fieldwork, effective communication, and trainer skills. Interactive discussion groups were formed during the training, and participants delivered prepared presentations. The training, facilitated by accredited Sphere Trainer Zeynep Sanduvaç, involved 20 participants from 10 different organizations operating in various cities.
Supported by the Korean organizations, The Korea NGO Council for Overseas Development Cooperation (KCOC) and Community Chest of Korea (CCK), the training program concluded with an evaluation activity and a certificate ceremony.
What is Sphere training?
The Sphere Movement was established in 1997 by humanitarian professionals with the aim of improving the quality of humanitarian aid efforts during post-disaster interventions. The movement brings together local and international civil society organizations, donor agencies, government representatives, and private sector stakeholders to enhance the quality and accountability of humanitarian response. The training sessions provide presentations and knowledge-sharing on a set of standards defined by the Sphere Movement for the humanitarian field.
