Aceh İstanbul Orphanage celebrate for its first university graduation
For the first time, a student from Aceh İstanbul Orphanage, which was established by IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation in the aftermath of a tsunami disaster in Aceh, has graduated from university.
Indonesia, SouthAsia 05.03.2013

Muliani, one of the students of the İstanbul Orphanage Complex established by IHH following a tsunami disaster in Indonesia in 2004, has completed her university degree.

Muliani, one of the students who was able to receive education thanks to support from Turkish charity givers, was a 7th grader when she lost her father. She became one of the residents of the IHH’s orphanage after a short while and she was being regularly supported through IHH’s Sponsor Family System.

Muliani has graduated from the economics department of state-run IAIN Ar Raniry University in the region and she plans to work as a bank employer. She wants to continue her education at the same time hence she expects Turkish charity givers to continue to support her with scholarships.

After the graduation ceremony of Muliani at the university, another celebratory program was held at the İstanbul Orphanage Complex special for her. There were emotional moments at the event which was organized by Muliani’s friends for her. Muliani, offering her thanks to IHH for all its support, stated her hope to meet with her Turkish sponsor family one day.
