Humanitarian aid efforts have been ongoing in Syria since 2011, when the civil war began.
IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation carrying different efforts including food, health, accomodation and educatin, continues to support Syrian war-affected civilians with its offices and logistics centers established in the country.
İn addition to IHH's ongoing joint projects in Syria with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, a new one in the field of food security and livelihoods has just been launched.
Cash aid to 1,150 families
Under the Syria Cross-Border Humanitarian Fund (SCHF) of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, IHH implements a project to provide cash support to 1,150 families living in 4 villages and 11 different camps in the Racu region of Afrin district in Syria between December 2023 and March 2024, with a total of $296,465 in cash support. As many as 5,484 individuals benefited from the project.
The beneficiary families use the cash aid to meet their food needs. In accordance with the disability inclusion approach, contributions are also made to facilitate access to the market for 227 families with elderly and disabled individuals.
The project will continue until August 2024.
