A ceremony was held at Haliç Congress Center to mark the 144th anniversary of the establishment of the Red Crescent Society. The event included an iftar dinner and was attended by Erdoğan as well as scores of people.
A number of institutions were awarded prizes in different fields, while IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation was presented a gold medal for its relief efforts after the Van earthquake and assistance to Syrian refugees fleeing clashes.
PM Erdoğan presented the medal to member of the IHH board of trustees Yavuz Dede on behalf of the foundation.

The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation continued its support for orphans in 2023, providing assistance to hundreds of thousands of orphans and their families. IHH reached over 137,000 orphans every month in 45 countries, including Turkey, through the regular contributions of generous donors. The foundation operated 42 orphanages, 1 orphan education center, and 1 educational campus in 12 countries, touching the lives of hundreds of thousands of children through various projects.
