IHH looks after the orphans of the "Bilge" Village

In Bilge village of Mazıdağı province of Mardin, 3 people were injured and 44 people lost their lives during the attack to the house in which an engagement ceremony was celebrating. The event deplored the people of Turkey, happened in May 4th, 2009,

Nearly 21 months have passed over the Bilge village massacre, still the pain remains fresh. 61 children left orphaned after the massacre. IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation moved to support the Bilge village orphans following the explanations of the headman Abdurrahman Celebi saying that the orphans were in need.

The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation vice chairman Yasser Kutluay arrived to the village with an accompanying committee and got information about the orphans from the headman Abdurrahman Celebi. The IHH committee also met with the orphans and listened their problems. After the conducted research, all the orphans aged under 18 from Bilge village were included in to the IHH's "Sponsor Family System" thus, the necessities of the 51 orphans of the village will be provided by the IHH.

The IHH vice chairman Yasser Outlay who visited the Bilge village, expressed that the foundation would look after the orphans and saying that "A couple of weeks ago the explanations of the headman Abdurrahman Celebi about the  orphan saying that they were in need published on the media. We came to the village and conducted some researches as the IHH Orphan Unit. After the talks, we decided to take care of all the orphans in the village. We will provide their needs as much as we can by including the orphans in our Sponsor Family System."
