In 2007, the Lebanese troops raided the camp, where 35,000 refugees are staying, and devastated the camp. The camp houses were razed and burned. Returning refugees saw their homes leveled to the ground.

The 35,000 Palestinian refugees in Nahr al-Bared camp are living under difficult conditions.

The IHH extended a hand and gave 5,200 refugee families at the camp aid packages containing basic necessity supplies.

The IHH has been supporting the Palestinian refugees at the camp for years. Camp residents have so far been delivered aid worth of $1 million.

As a result of the collaboration between the İHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs' Syria Cross-Border Humanitarian Fund (SCHF), a total of 371,475 USD in cash assistance and 3,450 food parcels were distributed over the period of 9 months to 1,150 families living in the Racu region of Afrin district in Syria.
