The twin earthquakes impacted several regions across Venezuela, causing widespread destruction. Thousands of buildings collapsed, and nearly 5,000 people lost their lives.

In the immediate aftermath of the disaster, IHH initiated emergency humanitarian assistance for earthquake survivors, providing support across multiple sectors.

Hot Meals, Food Parcels, and Hygiene Kits Distributed

During the first phase of the operation, IHH distributed 250 hygiene kits and 250 food parcels at two separate locations. The relief effort was later expanded in La Guaira, one of the areas hardest hit by the earthquakes, where 1,000 hygiene kits were distributed in the presence of La Guaira State Governor José Alejandro Terán.

IHH teams also provided 1,000 hot meals and distributed 13.5 tonnes of drinking water to affected residents in the same area.

Commenting on the relief efforts, IHH representative Mehmet Çelik said:

"As the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, we are in Venezuela's La Guaira state, where the magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes caused widespread devastation. We are sharing the food parcels we have prepared with families affected by the disaster as part of our efforts to help them recover."

La Guaira State Governor José Alejandro Terán, who attended the distribution, expressed his gratitude to IHH for its support.

"On behalf of the people of La Guaira, I extend my sincere thanks. This assistance is provided entirely without expectation of anything in return and reflects the genuine spirit of humanitarian solidarity demonstrated by the Turkish people and their organizations," Terán said.

IHH stated that its humanitarian operations in Venezuela are ongoing.
