The conflict in Syria has been going over the past six years. All this time civilians were harmed the most from this conflict. According to official reports over 400.000 people have been killed. Relief aid cannot be delivered to over twenty regions where 1.5 million people live. Especially children, women and elderly are trying to survive under life threatening conditions.
IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation that reaches out to Syrian people caught up in this conflict continues to be the hope of Syrians. In this regard IHH recently delivered food aid prior to Ramadan to 400 Syrian families who live in Kilis, Turkey.
“One-Month Food Supply”
IHH Syria Relief Efforts Kilis Coordination Centre Orphan Unit manager Ahmet Kenan explained that they have been keeping up with their support for orphans since day one of the conflict.
Kenan said children are harmed most in the war. “There are thousands of Syrian children who lost their parents in the war. We are trying to identify and help them to meet all their needs. Recently with the advent of the month of Ramadan we distributed 400 food parcels to the families without a father. Each parcel contains food supplies that would last for one month. Nonetheless our aid campaign will continue throughout Ramadan” he said.
The Aid Campaigns Continue in Ramadan
The distribution of food parcels containing sugar, flour, oil and legumes will continue during Ramadan as well with the support of donors.
