IHH extends a hand to Syrians affected from cold
Şanlıurfa Humanitarian Aid Association has taken 2,500 liters of diesel fuel to Syrians who have been giving a life struggle due to the attacks of the Syrian regime.

Around 15,000 refugees who fled the violence in various parts of Syria and took refuge in Tall Abyad region of Raqqah are facing the risk of freezing to death due to heavy cold.

In order to help these Syrians, Şanlıurfa Humanitarian Aid Association has taken 2,500 liters of diesel fuel to the 200 families in need in the region.

Şanlıurfa Humanitarian Aid Association deputy President Lawyer Ali Acar said: “15,000 Syrians who took refuge in Tall Abyad region of Raqqah are under the risk of losing their lives due to cold weather. Şanlıurfa Humanitarian Aid Association has taken action to help the Syrians there and purchased 2,500 liters of diesel fuel and delivered it to 200 families in need.”

Describing the situation as being “terrible,” Acar said: “We need to attract attention to these regions. They are really in a difficult situation. People should empathize with them. We are planning to make fuel donation again to that region soon.”

Search and rescue efforts continue in the areas affected by the earthquake. 65 search and rescue teams of IHH, consisting of 1447 people, are working together with 2 search and rescue dogs. IHH also continues its aid efforts in other ways such as providing food, shelter and clothing through an emergency aid distribution team consisting of 1728 people. IHH Chairman Bülent Yıldırım, Executive Board Members and 184 coordination officers are also in the earthquake area.
