IHH distributes bread to the people of Aleppo

The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation distributed 36,000 loaves of bread to civilians in Aleppo city center, Syria. The foundation announced plans to establish a bakery and a soup kitchen to serve the people there.

IHH continues its relief efforts for civilians living in Aleppo’s city center. Following an assessment in the city, we initially distributed 36,000 loaves of bread to the people of Aleppo.

Humanitarian aid was also provided in the form of 120 food packages, 300 emergency aid packages, and the establishment of tents for 70 families to civilians who had migrated from western Aleppo and Idlib’s countryside to the Turkish border.

IHH continues its efforts to provide humanitarian assistance in different areas, including Aleppo, Idlib, and Tel Rifaat.

Additionally, under the “Goodness withstand the cold” campaign, we have launched winter aid campaigns for regions affected by war and crises, aiming to support thousands of families in Syria.

“We will build a soup kitchen and bakery for the people of Aleppo”

Yakup Işık, board member responsible for IHH’s Syria operations, provided information about their activities in the region, stating, “We initially distributed 36,000 loaves of bread in Aleppo city center. We aim to increase this number to 100,000 in a short time. Additionally, we have started distributing hot meals.”

Highlighting plans to expand the scope of aid, Işık added, “We plan to build a soup kitchen and bakery to serve the people of Aleppo. These facilities will significantly increase our capacity to provide assistance to Aleppo. Our efforts will not be limited to the city center; we will also support families in rural areas.”

He further explained that basic necessities such as food packages, hygiene kits and blankets would be distributed in the near future. “Since 2011, we have been conducting humanitarian relief activities within Syria. We consider these emergency relief efforts in Aleppo to be highly significant given the current conditions. We invite all our donors to support the people of Aleppo,” Işık said.

Türkiye and Qatar built new homes for 1,400 families in Syria

Qatar Charity and IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation established the “Hope City” in the town of Soran in the Azaz region of Syria, where 1,400 families affected by the civil war will reside. The inauguration of Hope City - which consists of 9 neighborhoods and is home to 10,000 people - was attended by many high-level officials from Qatar, Türkiye and Syria.
