IHH continues relief efforts it launched in Van in the aftermath of two powerful earthquakes which rocked the province last year. A medical truck belonging to the IHH offered free medical services to thousands of quake victims in container cities in the province.
The medical truck has been offering medical services to the quake victims in 15 different container cities in Van for four months. Diagnosis and treatment in general surgery, gynecology and general health are made by the medics in the truck. The medical truck also offers cancer and epidemics screening tests.
The 7-member medical team on the medical truck also monitors diabetes and high blood pressure patients in addition to the growth of children. They also provide moral support to the quake victims.
The aftereffects of the two powerful earthquakes which hit Van last year are still felt. The IHH, which has established a residential center for the quake victims who are left homeless, continue to provide food, clothing and educational support to the quake victims.
