The Bursa İnegöl Orphanage was built within the Haripur Education Complex in the city of Haripur, 90 kilometers from Pakistan’s capital Islamabad. The orphanage was built on a total area of 2,394 square meters. The first two of the three-floor-building will be used as dormitories, while the third floor for classrooms and activities. The 192-capacity orphanage was built by Bursa İHH.

“Your duty is to develop this country"

During the opening ceremony Hüseyin Oruç said that, "When we visited this orphanage, one of our guests said: 'I graduated from the best school in Pakistan, but my dormitory, my room, was not this nice.’ Oruç then addressed the orphans and said: 'The duty of all of you is to be a good Muslim, first to move this country forward and then to show this to the whole world.”

Following Oruç's speech, President of Bursa İHH Hüseyin Kaptan stated that, "We've heard so much about this (brotherhood) from our elders. Allah has allowed us to witness the Pakistani-Turkish brotherhood in these lands. As Bursa İHH, we have been blessed to build our first international permanent project here".

What is the Haripur Education Complex?

The complex, which was started by İHH in 2011 and is located on a 16-acre land, now houses the Bursa İnegöl Orphanage as its final building. The educational complex includes 4 orphanages, 3 schools and 1 vocational training center. There is also a sports hall, a tailoring workshop and a farm for the orphans. A total of 875 students are currently being educated in the complex, 605 of whom are orphans. Of these orphaned students, 550 reside in the complex.

To avoid waste, all leftover food is converted and effectively used as fodder and fertilizer for the farm or animal husbandry within the Haripur Education Complex.
