IHH repairs house damaged by Israel
The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation continues to construct new homes for the families whose houses were demolished or damaged in Israel’s bloody “Cast Lead Operation” in 2008.
Palestine 15.04.2011

Ahmad Hatip, a Palestinian whose two sons were martyred and whose house was damaged in the Israeli attacks, was given the keys of his home repaired by the IHH.

Hatip and his 14-member family including his children, daughter-in-laws and grandchildren, began to live in the warmth of their newly-repaired home. While receiving the keys of the house, Hatip offered his thanks to the benevolent Turkish nation for their donations and sent his prayers for them.

“If the job of some is to demolish, our job is to rebuild. We will never abandon our soil. The house which has been repaired here is of crucial importance. There is the perseverance of our Turkish brothers and sisters in every brick of this house. This shows that there are people caring for the Palestinian cause. Allah willing, Gaza and Jerusalem will see days of freedom,” Hatip said.

Coordinator of IHH’s Gaza office Mehmet Kaya said the IHH will continue to build houses for the families who lost their homes in the war.

Kaya noted that Hatip’s house was named after Ali Haydar Bengi, one of the victims of Israel’s Mavi Marmara attack, adding that eight other houses to be constrcurted will be named after other Mavi Marmara victims.
