IHH Sakarya sends 2 trucks of aid to Syria
IHH President Bülent Yıldırım said that approximately 3,000 humanitarian aid trucks had been sent from Turkey to Syria until now and it would reach 5,000 in a few month.

IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation continues to transfer humanitarian aid to Syria where the civil war has been going on. In his speech in Ankara, IHH President Bülent Yıldırım said that they had transferred 43rd truck from Sakarya to Syria. 

Pointing out that the campaign ¨I Need You¨ is led by Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) and supported by many other NGOs, Yıldırım emphasized that many aid trucks had been transferred to Syria from many cities in Turkey throughout the campaign.

Number of trucks will reach 5,000

Yıldırım said that approximately 3,000 humanitarian aid trucks had been sent from Turkey to Syria until now and it would reach 5,000 in a few month.

Yıldırım thanked people of Sakarya and Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeki Toçoğlu for supporting the 43rd humanitarian aid truck which was transferred to Syria.

¨Syrian women and children have been waiting the humanitarian aid you sent. I hope, the aid materials will be delivered in a short time.¨ he said. 

Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeki Toçoğlu said that they felt the joy of transferring 43rd humanitarian aid truck to Syria and he continued ¨Especially events taking place in Syria hurt us. Syrian people are our neighbors and brothers so we have to help them. We support all the activities of IHH which stand always by the oppressed. Inshallah we will transfer 54th truck in the near future from Sakarya also. We pray Allah to end this violence in Syria."

While the IHH Search and Rescue Teams pulled 2,934 deceased and injured people from the rubble, emergency aid volunteers delivered support to hundreds of thousands of people in many different areas.

Search and rescue efforts continue in the areas affected by the earthquake. 65 search and rescue teams of IHH, consisting of 1447 people, are working together with 2 search and rescue dogs. IHH also continues its aid efforts in other ways such as providing food, shelter and clothing through an emergency aid distribution team consisting of 1728 people. IHH Chairman Bülent Yıldırım, Executive Board Members and 184 coordination officers are also in the earthquake area.
