IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation in collaboration with RAF Charity Organization from Qatar sent off 250.000 tons of flour to Syria with an aid convoy of 50 trucks.

No relief aid is able to enter Aleppo which is under siege for over two months now by the regime forces. 400.000 civilians living in the city do not have access to the basic living supplies. IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation has collaborated with Raf Charity Organization from Qatar to this end and sent off an aid convoy of 50-trucks carrying 250.000 tons of flour in order to let the bakeries run to produce bread again.

IHH General Secretary, Yavuz Dede and RAF Charity Organization’s representative along with other officials were present during the departure of the aid convoy from IHH’s Syria Work Logistics Centre located in Reyhanlı.

“Orphan Village Opens Soon”

In his speech during the departure of the convoy IHH General Secretary, Yavuz Dede said that IHH is developing charity projects for Syrians with the collaboration of RAF Charity Organization of Qatar. Mr. Dede mentioned that apart from basic relief aid they are developing lasting projects:

“We are working in collaboration with RAF Charity Organization, Qatar. Our projects are concentrated on Syrians in Turkish territories mostly. Our joint project Orphan Village will open soon. RAF also gives financial support for the permanent projects in order to help refugees who fled Syrian war that’s been going on for 6 years stand on their feet. End of this year we are planning to finish 100 houses that will be given to 100 Syrian families so they have a safe place to live. Our collaboration is based on the principle to stand by the oppressed and against the oppressor.”

Mr. Dede said that they have developed the initial projects together with RAF and had the chance to realize bigger and better ones in Syria as well. He expressed that he hopes this collaboration to stand as an example to the others.

3 Million Qatar Riyal

Raf Charity Organization’s representative  Muhammed Salah said that this aid convoy is carrying 3 Million Qatar Riyal worth of floor to Syria and their efforts with IHH for Syrian people will continue.

The aid convoy departed after the speeches and crossed the border from Cilvegözü Checkpoint in Reyhanlı.

The flour is going to be delivered to 11 bakeries run by IHH in the countryside of Aleppo, Lattakia, and Idlib which will in return produce bread to distribute to the people.
