IHH Supported Over 1 Million Orphans in 43 Countries in 2024
IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation reached over 1 million children in 2024 through its orphans works. With 44 orphanages and 1 educational campus in 12 countries, the foundation provided regular monthly support to 133,268 orphaned children in Turkey and 42 other countries through its sponsorship system.

It is estimated that there are over 150 million orphaned children in the world. When orphans do not receive the necessary attention and support, they face numerous risks. Humanitarian aid efforts and supportive activities make a significant impact on the lives of orphans and their families.

IHH's Humanitarian Aid Activities

IHH has been carrying out humanitarian aid efforts for orphans and their families for many years. The foundation provided support in various areas such as education, health, housing, and income generation. We also organized festivals, events, and projects throughout the year to orphans under our care whose number has reached over 1 million.

Regular Support for 133,268 Children in 43 Countries

Through its Orphan Sponsorship System, IHH provided regular monthly support of 800 Turkish Liras to 12,381 children in Turkey and 120,887 children in 42 countries, benefiting a total of 133,268 children. The “Competing in Goodness Classes” project, conducted in collaboration with Turkey’s Ministry of National Education, is also ongoing. Under this project, which involved 3,150 schools across Turkey, 7,608 orphans were supported.

Shelter for 2,250 Orphans Through Orphanages

With 44 orphanages and 1 educational campus in 12 countries, IHH provided safe living spaces for 2,250 orphans. In addition to regular tutoring and supplementary lessons, children benefited from vocational training such as computer skills, language courses, cooking, tailoring, and carpentry. Their development was further supported with religious studies, Islamic sciences, as well as spiritual education.

Festive Gifts for 85,000 Orphans

As in previous years, IHH distributed festive clothing to orphaned children during Ramadan and Eid al-Adha in 2024. During Ramadan, 50,867 orphans in Turkey and 15 other countries received holiday clothing, while 34,638 orphans received similar gifts during Eid al-Adha.

Health Services for 3,750 Orphans and Their Mothers

Comprehensive projects in the areas of health, food, housing, and education were implemented abroad throughout 2024. Health services were provided to 3,750 orphaned children and their mothers, while 4,058 orphans and their families received food packages and sacrificial meat shares. Additionally, 26,915 people benefited from housing and clothing assistance.

Support for Nearly 100,000 Orphans Across Türkiye

In 2024, various activities were also organized in Turkey. Social initiatives such as children’s festivals, trips, tree-planting events, cinema outings, and report card celebrations were held, alongside the distributions of clothing, school supplies, and food parcels. Nearly 100,000 people benefited from these efforts.

IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation built a mosque in Yumbe district, 550 kilometers from the capital of Uganda. In the same region, the foundation of the Quran Education Center, where 108 students can study at the same time, was laid, while the construction of a mosque and a water well started in Mpambiri village, 25 kilometers away from the capital.

1,400 families in Syria find their new homes in the City of Hope
IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation and Qatar Charity Organization established “City of Hope” in Tukli village in Azaz region of Syria where 1400 families affected by the civil war will reside. Families who have been staying in Babusselam Refugee Camp under difficult conditions for many years continue to move to the village.
