Following the Russia-Ukraine War, IHH, which has been involved in numerous aid efforts for war victims in Ukraine, recently sent 4 lorries of aid materials to the country. After the aid arrived in Kiev, the first distribution took place at a programme organised at the General Centre of the Crimean Tatar Religious Administration. The programme was attended by Turkey's Ambassador to Ukraine, Levent Bilgen, IHH officials and representatives of local civil society organisations.
The Crimean Fund and the Crimean Tatar Religious Administration are also supporting IHH's distribution efforts in Ukraine.
‘We strive to be wherever we are needed’
Speaking about the aid effort, IHH Central Asia and Caucasus Unit Coordinator Muhammed Hamza Nedimoğlu said, "As the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, we strive to be wherever we are needed. We are here today because we need to be there for Crimean Tatar families, among others, during these difficult times in Ukraine. God willing, we will strive to deliver the aid to those in need and provide some support during the harsh winter conditions."
Ömer Çağlar from the IHH Istanbul Resource Development Unit also said, ‘We are in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, where the war has been going on for four years. The in-kind aid materials that departed from Turkey have arrived in Kiev. After sorting, they will be distributed to families in need. We thank our donors for their support. May Allah accept it. May Allah be pleased.’

157 generators were sent
One of the trucks that began distribution contained 1,100 food parcels, while another truck contained hygiene supplies such as nappies, sanitary pads, wet wipes, shampoo and soap. One truck is carrying winter woolen underwear. The fourth truck contains 157 generators, as well as boots and coats, to address the electricity needs of civilians facing severe power shortages.

The aid supplies departed from IHH's Emre Yerli Disaster Management and Logistics Centre in Tuzla, Istanbul. IHH Board of Trustees member Osman Atalay and Ukrainian Economic Attaché Artem Popov attended the send-off ceremony.
