IHH and Islamic Relief assist earthquake survivors in Van
IHH and Britain-based Islamic Relief delivered food aid to earthquake survivors in Van.

 IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, which swiftly launched emergency aid efforts in the city of Van after it was hit by an earthquake on 23 October 2011, is carrying on with relief activities in the city.

This week the foundation, in cooperation with Islamic Relief from Britain, distributed food supplies to 475 families living in central Van and in the district of Erciş.

The aid reached 2,478 people, mostly women who were widowed and children who were orphaned by the earthquake.

The food packages delivered to the families contained supplies of cooking oil, powder sugar, tea, tomato paste, jam, olives, dried beans, rice, chickpeas, macaroni, and chocolate.

IHH delivers monthly regular assistance to the families affected by earthquake in central Van and Erciş.

4.5 Million People Affected by Devastating Flood in Bangladesh
In Bangladesh approximately 4.5 million people have been affected by severe flooding caused by intense monsoon rains and the opening of dam gates in India. With hundreds of people being reported missing and at least 15 confirmed dead, IHH swiftly initiated its emergency relief efforts. As the first phase of the aid project, we distributed hot meals, dry food, and emergency aid supplies to 1,000 families.
