A five-member IHH team which includes two doctors visited the Hawari Hospital, which is the largest hospital in Benghazi. The chief doctor of the hospital, Doctor İzzuddin Bin Omran who accepted the IHH team, said there is a big number of injured people at the hospital.

He said some of the injured were in a critical condition and their treatment is not possible at the hospital. Noting that the hospital lacks the necessary medical supplies and equipments to treat those patients, Omran said they would be unable to treat the patients who are in a critical condition.

Doctor Mahmut Çoşkun presented the medical supplies and medicine the IHH brought from Turkey to Omran during the visit.

IHH deputy Chairman Ahmet Sarıkurt who organizes the relief efforts in the region said they give priority to the treatment of the injured in the region. He said they have launched the necessary work to transfer 50 injured people in Benghazi to Turkey. Following the completion of paper work, he said the injured will be sent to Turkey via a ferry boat.

IHH members donate blood

In the meantime, Sarıkurt and IHH volunteer Muhammed Hilmi Genç donated blood for two patients at the Hawari Hospital who needed urgent blood transfusions.
