Second IHH group arrive in Haiti

The physicians are treating 150 people daily. Hot food is also distributed to 2,000 Haitians, including 700 orphans. The IHH officials in the country are looking for a place to shelter the orphans. Mehmet Rıdvan Üstünel, a physician in the IHH group, noted they had not observed any significant progress a month since the earthquake. He said he was treating 100 patients on average in a day and the number was rising every day. “Although it has been a month since the quake happened, the situation is getting worse every day. The number of patients is rising. It has become increasingly hard to get basic necessities. There are serious problems about foodstuff, beverages and sheltering. We are trying to treat as many people as possible. Children form 70-80 percent of our patients. Scabies, diarrhea, influenza, lower respiratory infection and anemia caused by undernourishment are the most commonly diagnosed diseases. Haitian people urgently need foodstuff and medication,” he added.

IHH Continues Emergency Aid Efforts in Bangladesh
IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation continues its emergency aid efforts in Bangladesh following the floods that have affected 5.6 million people. So far, we have provided hot meals to 18,000 people and distributed food packages and dry goods to 500 families. Additionally, our set up mobile clinic is providing health services to 200 people daily.
