The Ship of Goodness prepared by IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation for Sudan departed from the Mersin International Port. The aid, which includes 57 containers of food, 32 containers of clothing, 3 containers of blankets, and 18 containers of hygiene supplies, was collected at the IHH Logistics Centers in Reyhanlı (Hatay province) and Mersin, and then transported to the Mersin Port, where the entire 110 containers were loaded onto the ship.

“The Ship of Goodness: Carrying Love and Friendship”

Speaking at the send-off ceremony at the port, IHH Deputy Chairman of International Programs Emre Kaya expressed his hope that the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan would end as soon as possible. He said, “Once the loading process is completed, our ship will head to Port Sudan. The aid will be delivered accordingly to those in need. This is more than just a humanitarian mission; it is also a journey of goodness, carrying the love and friendship of the Turkish people.” Kaya also mentioned that since April 15, 2023, IHH has sent a total of 211 containers (3,155 tons) of humanitarian aid to Sudan. With this ship, the total aid has now become 321 containers (4,760 tons).

Every box loaded onto this ship carries the love and brotherhood of the Turkish people. We thank all of our donors who supported us during this process.”

“We Will Never Forget this Support”

Sudan’s Ambassador to Ankara, H.E. Nadir Yousif Eltayeb, also spoke at the ceremony and expressed great appreciation to Türkiye’s support to Sudan: “The Turkish people are not only sending aid but also sharing their love and brotherhood with us. The crises in Gaza, Sudan, and various parts of the Islamic world are the results of international conspiracies. We hope that this war ends soon and the reconstruction process begins. We will never forget Türkiye’s support,” he said.

After the ceremony and loading were completed, the ship departed for Sudan.
