Project of the week

Israel attacking Gaza for days
Israeli forces continue to attack Gaza from land, air and sea.
Palestine, MiddleEast, Turkey 17.11.2012

While Israeli attacks on Gaza continue, Gazans’ need for various aid items, being mainly medical care, emerges.

It is reported that tens of Palestinians died and hundreds of others were injured in the Israeli strikes.

IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation Gaza representative Mehmet Kaya said Israel continues its attacks on Gaza and its latest attacks targeted the government buildings.

What is happening in Gaza

Sharing his impressions from the region, Kaya said:

Latest Israeli attacks targeted prime ministry, ministry buildings in addition to the Sports Ministry building and a football complex adjacent to it. There are martyrs and injured people. There is need for urgent medical supplies. Gaza’s healthcare capacity does not meet the demand. Our sisters and brothers in Turkey should be sensitive about the incidents in Gaza.

In addition, Gazans make big efforts for the normalization of life in the city which has been bombed for days. Egypt keeps the Rafah border gate open. There is a shortage of oil and there are frequent power cuts. The people are concerned and furious but tension is not felt in the streets for the time being. Since workplaces are closed, people go out just to meet their needs. They try to lead their normal lives. When the missiles launched from here dropped in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, it has for the first time been understood that there are long-range missiles here. Israelis are very anxious and angry in this regard. Yet, we expect heavy attacks on Gaza.

A F-16 plane and an unmanned aerial vehicle belonging to Israel were downed yesterday. This incident seems to have made Palestinian people to resist Israeli attacks more strongly. The wave of terrorism which was made to blow in Gaza by the Zionist regime for years has been weakened. Israel is now trying to ensure declaration of a ceasefire. Gazans have a good motivation and hope while there is fear and anxiety on the Israeli side. Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Kandil was in Gaza yesterday. He visited the Al-Shifa Hospital. There was a very good atmosphere. Today, ministers from Tunisia came to Gaza. The hand of Palestinians in Gaza is strong diplomatically.
