The youths are accused of “insult on the basis of religion, language, ethnicity, gender or sectarian difference.”
The prosecution demands one year jail sentence for the 30 individuals according to the 14/2 article of the Law on the Prevention of Violence and Disorder at Sporting Events and 53/1 article of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK).
Israel has killed thousands of civilians in the massacres since 1948 and it killed 1,500 Palestinians, more than half of whom were women and children, in Gaza in December 2008 alone. It has been imposing a fatal blockade on Gaza since 2006. It has been committing a crime against humanity with its occupation and maltreatment of Palestinian prisoners, its use of illegal weapons and wall of shame. Israel attacked Mavi Marmara ship and other ships in a flotilla which set sail to take humanitarian aid to Gaza, killed nine passengers and injured tens of others on 31 May 2010. Israel sent the passengers to prison and seized their belongings. Just as all these happen, there has been a growing reaction to the Israeli administration from the worlds of politics, law, media, economy, culture, arts and sports from all around the world.
Prayers for damn of Israel, which has become a nuisance for the world, is the common will of all the people of the world because if Israel is damned, children will live, the war in Palestine will end, peace will arrive, the world will have peace and all the next generations will be in safety.
Only Israel and its supporters, in other words a small, spoilt and ferocious minority in the world, are against this voice which arises from the conscience of the people. Remaining silent to Israeli administration policies which dictate that Israel is the ruler of the world and treat all the “others” as slaves no matter what their religion or ethnicity is, means giving up from being a human being. The honor and dignity of being a human being calls for opposition to Israeli atrocities.
When the sensitivity and honorable efforts of the Turkish nation against Israeli atrocities are appreciated by the entire world, it is very obvious what the case filed against young people in Kayseri serves for. When Turkey and the world wait for the trial of the killers of nine humanitarian aid volunteers and when the crimes committed and the criminals are so obvious, Turkish prosecutors seem to be busy with launching cases against virtuous young people.
It is natural to expect the judiciary in Kayseri to act with the same swiftness to launch a case against the perpetrators of the Mavi Marmara attack, the soldiers of killer Israel.
We share the same thoughts with the virtuous youths who uphold human dignity and honor and we scream out the following slogans with them.
“Damn Israel”: For its killing of babies and civilians
“Damn Israel”: For its occupation of Palestinian land
“Damn Israel”: For its attacks on Masjid al-Aqsa and holy places
“Damn Israel”: For its looking down on people from other religions and ethnicities
"Damn Israel”: For its atrocities against people due to their religion, language and ethnicity
“Damn Israel”: For its attack on Mavi Marmara
“Damn supporters of Israel”: For their support for tyranny
