Acting by the prophetic saying ‘he who sleeps full at night while his neighbor is hungry is not one of us,’ the people of Anatolia extended their held and donations to needy people in different parts of the world in an act of generosity. Those who donated in Eid al-Adha helped take happiness to thousands distressed souls.
Left for countries of their destination, voluntary IHH teams started sacrificial slaughters on the first day of Eid. Destitute people in war and conflict regions and refugee camps were gratified by Qurban aid. Thousands of orphans were pleased. Muslim communities scattered on different continents gathered during Eid al-Adha in a spiritual gathering.
35,000 Qurban shares to be slaughtered
The IHH will slaughter about 35,000 Qurban shares during the Eid in 120 countries and regions. It will reach out to 2.5 million people. In addition to meat distribution, clothes will be given to orphans and cash donations to poor families in certain countries.
Qurban donations of benevolent Anatolian people were delivered to countries as diverse as Somalia, Tanzania, Pakistan, Indonesia, Iraq, Palestine, Mongolia, Sir Lanka, the Philippines (Mindanao), Pattani (Thailand), Cuba, Haiti, Vietnam and Bosnia-Herzegovina as well as some regions not familiar to the Turkish public opinion.
Qurban organization in Turkey
The IHH performed domestic Qurban slaughters in the city of Adıyaman at facilities of the state-owned Meat and Fish Institution.
Meat of the animals that were slaughtered in line with Islamic practices were packed and distributed to destitute families in various provinces. Moreover, 100 heads of cattle that were donated as aqiqah and nazhr (oath) were also slaughtered and distributed to the poor.
