Mavi Marmara art exhibition opens
A photography exhibition featuring the attack on the Mavi Marmara boat was held at Taksim Metro Art Gallery.
Palestine, Turkey 04.08.2010

The exhibition includes photographs depicting the bloody Israeli raid on the flotilla of ships that attempted to break the three-year long embargo on Gaza with activists from 36 countries and open an aid corridor to the region. In the violent attack on the 31 May morning nine activists had been killed and 54 had been wounded. Some of the activists who had taken part in the campaign were present at the opening ceremony. Turkish and English version of a report on the Mavi Marmara incident and introductory materials about Ramadan activities of the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation were offered at the exhibition.

The exhibit drew immense interest from both Istanbulites and tourists. Concerned people noted their feelings and reactions in the visitor journal. Banners reading crimes committed by Israeli leaders were hung at the entrance.

The exhibit will remain open until Sunday night, 8 August.
