Misrata residents who are caught up in the fighting between the forces loyal to Gaddafi and rebels are in need of humanitarian assistance. The city is running low on medication and food supplies. The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation has been providing relief materials to the country since the outbreak of the armed fighting.
The latest round of aid shipment that the IHH is sending to Libya is seven-container cargo, which contains medications, foodstuffs, clothes, and basic necessities. The aid cargo worth TL 1,068,000 will be shipped to Misrata from Turkey’s Mersin Port. The total amount of humanitarian assistance provided to Libya by the IHH will reach TL 7,212,000 with the last shipment. Once the cargo arrives in Misrata the IHH aid workers in the city will quickly organize its delivery to those in need.
