The event was organized by the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation and AYDER humanitarian aid association, drawing 165 orphans in Konya. Orphans who had good grades in their report cards were given various presents such as computers.
Certificates of appreciation and plaques were presented to the teachers who take part in the education of orphans and mothers who were successful in the Quran course offered by AYDER women’s unit.
Delivering a speech at the event, Konya IHH President Hidayet Yılmaz said: “According to our belief, the orphans, the desperate and people without a family in a society should not be made feel lonely. We give a lot of importance to give religious and academic education to our children, particularly the orphans so that they have a job in the future. We have concentrated our efforts on this.”
In addition, orphans who memorized 40 hadiths during weekend programs at AYDER headquarters were presented with Mp4 and Mp3 players which included recordings of Quran recitation by Ahmed al Acmin and Islamic melodies.
An orphan named Umutcan recited a poem at the end of the program he wrote for AYDER and the IHH.
The program was concluded with the serving of food and ice cream to the orphans and their mothers.
