Hundreds of thousands houses and millions of acres of farmland were damaged in heavy monsoon rains. The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, which acted once floods hit, sent 10 trucks loaded with humanitarian relief materials to affected regions. 

Relief materials prepared at the foundation’s storage facility at Haripur were sent to flooded areas with trucks. The trucks carrying shoes, blankets, and clothes were seen off with recitation of prayers.

Hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis who were left homeless in last year’s flooding disaster were forced to live in the streets after heavy monsoon rains over the last six weeks. Calling on the international community for help Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani described the situation in the country as “The extent of the disaster is far beyond Pakistan’s capability to overcome.”
