Like every other year IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation’s caravan of goodwill hit the road to reach out to the needy in different corners of the world. IHH teams who traveled to Iraq for Ramazan 2017 aid campaign delivered various relief items to 29.522 people in Bagdad, Mosul, Kirkuk, Saladin and Anbar.
Food Hampers, iftar, clothes and alms – zakat al fitrah
Emre Kaya from IHH Foreign Affairs department said they have served communal iftar dinners, delivered food parcels containing tea, sugar, cooking oil, olive, rice and cheese as well as clothes, alms, zakat al-fitra to Iraqi people since the start of Ramadan. Kaya added:
“With our teams we came to Iraq to deliver our donor’s donations to the needy people in person. Food hampers were distributed to 2.220 people in Bagdad, 10.343 people in Mosul, 9.132 people in Kirkuk, and 1500 people in Saladin and Ambar. On top of that we threw a grand iftar to 1.100 people in Mosul and Kirkuk. We have handed out clothes to 160 orphan children and alms, zakat al-fitrah to 582 people.”
Target is 300.000
During the month of Ramadan IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation is going to deliver food parcels to 300.000 families in 104 countries around the world.
