With the start of the new school year, Anatolia Education Center, which was established by IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation in Somalia, has opened its doors to students. Students from various parts of Somalia come to the school where a total of 1,500 children will receive education. In addition to the school’s usual curriculum, the students will be offered courses on Quran, hadith, Islamic knowledge, Islamic law, and language education.
IHH continues to lend support to Somali orphans who have been living under the shadow of a civil war for long years. In this regard, the foundation has sponsored the construction of an education center that will meet all the needs of orphans in the country. The Anatolia Education Center, established on an area of 10,000 square-meters, also serves for the children of poor families from various regions. In the education center, where 155 orphan children are staying now, there is a school, administrative building, a Quran course, a dormitory, a sports hall, a mosque, a health clinic and a cafeteria.
IHH, which has been carrying out relief efforts in Somalia for 16 years, has given support to the local people in need through many projects and activities such as Agriculture School Project, Cataract Project and Water Well Project.
