Africa, Somalia 28.11.2011

Somalia, which has been witnessing a civil war and undergoing political instability over the past 20 years, is fighting against the heaviest drought of the past 60 years. The country does not have a central government due to the civil war and it has big problems in the fields of infrastructure, education and healthcare. Drought has made things worse in the country, leading to loss of many lives.

As drought has brought along deaths and starvation in Somalia, charitable people have done their best to extend a helping hand to Somali people. The entire country has taken action to support Somali people in the wake of the drought crisis. IHH, which has played an instrumental role in taking the donations of charity givers to the country, also carries out long-term projects for the country.

The orphanage complex will have two separate dormitories for girls and boys in addition to having a school, health clinic, Qur’an school, a deep water well, a supermarket and a mosque.

The complex will be built on an area of 12,000 square-meters.
