IHH and Islamic Development Bank (IDB) have signed a protocol between themselves to construct 36 solar-powered deep-water wells in different regions of Somalia.
IHH foundations general secretary and Vice Chairman Yavuz Dede attended the signing ceremony at the Islamic Development Bank’s headquarters in Jeddah and signed the protocol on behalf of IHH.
IHH’S SERVICES IN SOMALIA
Yavuz Dede Vice President of IHH, stated that the foundation has supported our Somalian brothers and sisters who were in need of help since 1995 till now.
Dede noted that till today they have constructed 15 large water wells and more than 1,100 smaller water wells. He spoke about their services in Somalia as IHH in the following manner:
“Our Anatolia Education Center in the field of education, training centres for females in different regions and agricultural training centre continues to provide services for the people of Somalia. Again, this year we will start the construction of the faculty of agriculture."
36 DEEP WATER WELLS
According to the agreement, with the support of Islamic Development Bank, 36 deep water wells will be constructed in Somalia as new drought waves are occurring.
The cost of water wells particularly in difficult and remote areas is roughly 6,692,160 dollars.
