Burak Karacaoglu, IHH's Syria press office agent stated that, children are fighting against the cold and epidemics in more than 100 campsites near Turkey's border.

Karacaoglu said that due to the civil war, close to 500,000 Syrian's have sought refuge in campsites mainly in Atmen, Kerama, Kahler, and Bab al-Hawa.

Karacaoglu also pointed out that the harsh winter conditions also have a negative impact on the children, "150 thousand Syrian children are battling against the cold and epidemics in more than 100 campsites near the Turkish border. Malnutrition, cold air and water restrictions have caused an increase in diseases."

"As IHH, we provide regular aid to 100 campsites near the Syrian border, however, it is still inadequate" he said.

Karacaoglu stressed the need for warm blankets and utensils at the campsites and stated that more help is needed.
