In the 4th year of the civil war in Syria, civilian’s hospitals are also a target. In the attacks so far, besides the wounded civilians that come to the hospital for treatment many doctors and nurses have been killed.

It is planned to be completed in about 2 months. Hospitals that consist of 3 parts are being built underground.

Abdurrahman emphasized that as a result of the ongoing work that has been on for months, the hospital's corridors and rooms have started to take shape. He also added that the hospital they are planning to open for service within the next 4 months needs support to be completed.

BEING BUILT INTO THE MOUNTAIN

One of the hospitals is being built by carving the mountain.

In the countryside of Hama one of the hospitals that is being constructed is about 20 metres below the mountain, the rooms are being constructed as if it is mining, the hospital is expected to be completed within the next 4 months.

Syrian workers are carving corridors and rooms just like they are constructing a building. A portion of the hospital will be used as a cold storage to store medicines as the country experiences frequent power cuts.

Abu Abdurrahman a doctor who is in charge of the Hama Region Medical Commission also said they are constructing a hospital by carving the mountain to be protected from attacks.

Abdurrahman indicated that so far over 160 doctors have died, and once the hospital begins to operate the patients and health officials would be safe.

Abdurrahman emphasized that as a result of the ongoing work that has been on for months, the hospital's corridors and rooms have started to take shape. He also added that the hospital they are planning to open up for service within the next 4 months needs support to be completed.

IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation Syria Coordinator Muhammed Yorgancioglu said that, they are inspecting the shortage of hospitals in Syria on site.
