With the “Orphan Sponsorship System”, IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation provides 9.244 children orphaned in the Syrian war with monthly regular cash support. IHH’s social cash support has met the food, education, shelter and healthcare needs of orphans living in the rural areas of Idlib and Aleppo, north Syria.
“Orphans are the most affected by the domestic war”
IHH Syrian Operations Media Representative Selim Tosun said that despite the war they make great efforts to ensure the future of these orphans. Explaining that these orphans are provided with regular social cash support, Tosun added, “The domestic war that has continued in Syria for the last ten years has left behind many orphaned children. We are continuing our orphan sponsorship system in an attempt of reducing this suffering to a minimal so these children grow up as individuals capable of reconstructing their country. With this system, every month 9.244 Syrian orphans receive social cash support which meets their basic needs.”
Saying that orphans are the most affected by the domestic war in Syria, Tosun continued, “Our orphan sponsorship system is continuing with the contributions of our donors. We ask for the support of those of conscience so that we can care for even more orphans.”
IHH’s Orphan Sponsorship System has been providing more than 96.000 orphans in 51 countries with regular social cash support. Just 125 TL a month contributes to the education, healthcare, food, clothing and shelter needs of an orphan.
