While the loss of lives is increasing every minute in Misrata, Libya, where intensive clashes are ongoing, the humanitarian situation in the city is deplorable. It is reported that civilians cannot even dare to go out onto the streets because of missiles sent by the Gaddafi forces to repel their opponents. The civilians there are experiencing a serious shortage of food.
The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation will support the region by sending three containers of relief supplies to the people of Misrata whose lives are at stake, so that the basic needs are met of the crisis-struck region. Three containers of food and medicine will be sent by ship from the port of Ambarli on the European side of the Marmara Region on July 15.
The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation continues to dispatch humanitarian aid under the "Libya Emergency Aid” campaign to the region. Our foundation also sent a team of emergency aid workers in the early days of the crisis in the region. In addition, six containers of humanitarian relief supplies were sent to Libya by ship by the IHH.
