Van quake orphans enjoy Orphan Solidarity Days
IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation continues to provide post-quake relief to the eastern province of Van, which was hit by a powerful earthquake on Oct.23, 2011.

Establishing a temporary housing center where 540 families can stay, IHH also continues to provide social relief to the region.

IHH has recently organized various activities in Van as part of the 2012 Orphan Solidarity Days.

The program began with a meal which was attended by 150 quake orphans and their families. IHH officials delivered speeches at the event and various activities and joyful contests were held for the orphans.

Gifts including shoes, clothing, toys, stationery supplies and watches were delivered to the orphans at the end of the program. The gifts were provided thanks to the contribution of AYDER (Konya) and YADER (Karaman and Adıyaman) aid organizations.

A total of 1,300 people live in the temporary housing center established by the IHH in Van which include 400 container and 150 prefabricated homes.
