Winter clothing aid from IHH to help the orphans

IHH provided 15,000 Syrian orphans with clothing and 10,000 orphans with shoes in these cold winter days.

According to official figures more than 200,000 people have lost their lives due to the events in Syria, however, unofficial figures state that the number is much higher. When the attacks are against civilians the number of orphans is increasing. According to IHH's research there is currently more than 600,000 orphans in Syria.

IHH having offices located in Reyhanlı and Kilis continues its regular and periodic assistance to the orphans.

Under the recent Winter Aid Campaign IHH has organized, 25,000 orphans in Aleppo, Hama, Idlib, Latakia and border line province of Turkey received assistance.

Within the winter aid there are shoes, coats, sweaters, pants, socks and underwear outfits.

The IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation is carrying out activities in earthquake zones with 5,852 search and rescue workers and aid volunteers. While the IHH Search and Rescue Teams pulled 2,934 deceased and injured people from the rubble, emergency aid volunteers delivered support to hundreds of thousands of people in many different areas.

Search and rescue efforts continue in the areas affected by the earthquake. 65 search and rescue teams of IHH, consisting of 1447 people, are working together with 2 search and rescue dogs. IHH also continues its aid efforts in other ways such as providing food, shelter and clothing through an emergency aid distribution team consisting of 1728 people. IHH Chairman Bülent Yıldırım, Executive Board Members and 184 coordination officers are also in the earthquake area.
