The aid vessel 'Irmak' which set off from Zeyport port, Istanbul last week reached Misrata after six days of journey. The 682-ton ship was carrying relief supplies worth 5.3 million Turkish lira.
The supplies in the aid vessel will be transferred quickly from the ship to the warehouses in Misrata by the IHH Humanitarian Aid Foundation for help during the difficult times currently faced by the Libyan people, who have run out of stocks of food. IHH teams in the region, along with partner organisations, will forward relief supplies to those in need. The relief supplies on board, worth 5.3 million Turkish lira, consist of various food items, and a 50-bed mobile hospital, pharmaceutical and medical supplies, diapers and milk powder valued at 2.4 million Euros.
