Turkey 10.11.2009

To draw attention to the situation of children made orphan by wars, occupations, natural disasters and poverty, the IHH organized an orphan meeting for the fourth time this year with the participation of orphans from 10 countries. The orphans attended various programs and performances held in the cities of Istanbul, Kayseri, Konya and Diyarbakır for two weeks. They said they would never forget the time they spent in Turkey as they left for their countries.

The orphans had mixed feelings while leaving, the happiness of returning home and the sadness of leaving Turkey.

Some of the orphans could not keep their tears as they bid farewell to the other orphans from Sudan, Ethiopia, Macedonia, Chechnya, East Turkistan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Iraq and Kyrgyzstan.

The orphans thanked and hugged their Turkish guides who accompanied them during their stay in Turkey.
