People of Adana, known for their support to previous “Viva Palestina!” convoy, once again geared up for the Palestinian cause. Adana Humanitarian Aid Association (ADYAR), held a fundraising night to show their support to IHH’s flotilla project.
General public of Adana have shown great interest in the event for Palestine. Both meeting halls within the Cultural Center of the Municipality were packed with guests and more room was still needed.
Veysel Tepeli, in his opening speech, noted that Muslims are not bound by artificial borders drawn by people sitting around tables, the oppression is their concern wherever in the world it may occur.
Tepeli also said that current situation of Muslims around the world is not because the oppressors are too powerful, but because Muslims do not leave their conflicts aside and do not unite as one brotherhood.
Ayman Khaled was also a guest to the event and he, thanking Turkish people on behalf of the Palestinians, mentioned that Palestinians are looking forward to the arrival of the flotilla.
Bulent Yildirim, President of IHH, said that no matter what others do to stop them, they are determined to ensure the safe arrival of the flotilla to Gaza.
Towards the end of the event program, Omer Karaoglu, a musician famous for his religious music, let the guests experience moments of excitement and sentimentality while listening to his melodies.
