Within the scope of the campaign launched last autumn to contribute to the development of the region, local seed support was provided to farmers in Azaz, Jarablus, Ras al-Ayn and Tal Abyad regions. Many factors such as drought and plant diseases due to global warming have started to affect agriculture in all countries of the world.

Today, countries are now having difficulty in meeting their own needs with their own production, and food prices are increasing rapidly all over the world due to the lack of products. In 2021, due to the dry season in Syria, about 4 million acres of land could not be harvested.

By taking action for the people going through a difficult time due to the long-standing war, in addition, IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, distributed seeds free of charge to farmers in October 2021. In recent days, the harvests of the seeds that were planted in the soil were made.

Native seed preferred

The Faculty of Agriculture of Damascus University conducted long research in order to determine the most suitable seeds for the climatic conditions of Syria. After the planting process, detailed reports were prepared on the rainfall situation, soil analysis and fertilization use.

As a result of the research, on many different domestic seeds, the most suitable seeds were brought to the farmers.

IHH’s Press Statement Regarding the Attack that Martyred Its 5 Staff in Gaza
IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation held a press conference regarding the attack carried out by the occupying Israeli forces in Gaza, which resulted in the martyrdom of its five personnel. At the conference, IHH President Bülent Yıldırım said that “Since October 7, 2023, 11 of our colleagues have been martyred. However, the highest number of martyrs in a single incident occurred in this latest attack. The vehicle was deliberately targeted. Their goal is to block humanitarian aid. Israel must not think that it can hit a Turkish organization and the Turks won’t react. On Sunday at 2:00 PM, let’s organize such a powerful protest from Fatih Mosque to Hagia Sophia Mosque that its voice can be heard all the way to Tel Aviv.”
