Majority of the Palestinians took refuge in neighboring countries such as Jordan, Syria and Lebanon due to Israeli atrocities on Palestinian land. Most of these people have been living under difficult circumstances and as refugees for three generations. There are 500.000 Palestinians trying to survive in 12 refugee camps in Syria only.
The IHH tries to extend a helping hand to the Palestinians living under difficult circumstances in refugee camps through a variety of projects. The foundation recently delivered wheelchairs to 105 disabled Palestinians in the refugee camps in Syria. It is estimated that there are approximately 10.000 disabled Palestinians in the refugee camps. Most of these people cannot go out of their houses because they do not have a wheelchair due to financial problems. Delivering them wheelchairs, the IHH hopes to help the disabled to become active members of the society. Receiving their wheelchairs, the disabled Palestinians offered their thanks to the charity givers for their donations.
