A special night for orphans in Sakarya
There were emotional moments during an event organized for orphans in Sakarya.
Turkey 12.04.2012

Volunteers from the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation in Sakarya organized a night for the orphans in Adapazarı. There were emotional moments in the event which drew a big number of people.

The event, which was organized on the occasion of the IHH’s Orphan Solidarity Days, took place at the Theater Hall of Adapazası AKM, drawing around 500 people.

Pedagogue-Writer Cevat Topkara and IHH Executive Board member Hüseyin Oruç were also in attendance in the event as speakers. The participants of the event were moved by the speeches of Oruç and Topkara.

Singer Ömer Karaoğlu sang his popular melodies for the audience at the event. A 19-member choir, all of whom are orphan girls, accompanied Karaoğlu as he sang the “Ummah symphony.” An orphan girl recited a poem about Prophet Muhammad titled, “You are at the age of 40.”

There were multimedia shows about the IHH’s sponsor family project and the IHH.

Bookmarks and other products which were prepared for the benefit of the orphans were put on sale at the end of the program. Bookmarks, which were prepared by orphans, received a lot of interest and sold out quickly.
