Members of the “Alperen Ocaklari”, protested against Israel in front of the Embassy in Istanbul regarding IHH’s West Bank representative Izzet Sahin’s arrest on the 27th of 2010 by Israeli authorities. Protesters gathered in front of the Embassy building in Levent, carrying flags of both Turkey and Palestine. The crowd chanted slogans protesting against Israel.

Guven Hizarci, Head of Istanbul Office of Alperen Ocaklari, said “Israel has been keeping a humanitarian aid worker of IHH in Jerusalem who did nothing but help the people of Palestine, a Turkish national, Izzet Sahin, in custody inside a gloomy cell under inhumane conditions for over 20 days. Just like in a lot of other matters, Israel is again acting against international laws and we are protesting against Turkish government who fail to stop Israel from treating one of its citizens in such inhumane ways.” Hizarci also noted that the government and state officials should interfere into the matter, said that Izzet Sahin should immediately be released from this situation and be set free.
