Çorum Humanitarian Aid Foundation and various civil society organizations have sent a truckload of aid items to Syrian people as part of the “one truckload of aid from every province” campaign.
The Platform to Support Syrian People, which was formed by 14 civil society institutions including Çorum İlkeder and Özgürder, that gathered under the umbrella of IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, collected the aid items for Syria.
The aid items sent to Syria from Çorum include 19 tons of flour, 2 tons of pasta, 1,125 tons of rice, boots, winter clothes and blankets.
The relief items were delivered by the Hatay desk of IHH in Syria’s Atma, Qah and İdlib regions.
Three truckloads of aid from Sakarya
Sakarya IHH collected three truckloads of aid from charity givers and sent them to Syrian people.
Two of the trucks were loaded with 600 blankets and 738 packages of winter clothes while the third truck was loaded with 25 tons of flour.
The flour is going to be used to make bread at bakeries listed by the IHH in the region and they will be distributed to the people for free. In some regions, bakeries will sell bread at reasonable prices excluding some expenses. Attacks by the Syrian regime made it impossible for most bakeries in the country to run, leading to a sharp increase the bread prices.
