The Independent Third Party Monitoring Team including IHH continues to contribute to the peace process of Moro. The Independent Third Party Monitoring Team which has a duty to monitor and assess the implementation of the requirements of the peace agreements signed between the Government of Philippines (GPH) and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) will continue to work in the field beginning from the second half of February onward.
The teams is presided by Former EU Ambassador to the Philippines Alistair MacDonald. Among the members are the Vice President of IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation Hüseyin Oruç, President of Mindanao Human Rights Action Center, Zainuddin Malang, Country Representative from Asian Foundation, Steven Rood and President of Peace Institute Gaston Z Ortigas.
Vice President of IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation Hüseyin Oruç who will go to the region on Sunday, 16 February, in the statements he gave about the issue mentioned that as a result of the peace negotiations, the two parties has come a long way. Oruç said that the Monitoring Team which will be in Moro on the second half of the February will monitor the implementation process of the requirements of the peace process in the field itself.
The Independent Third Party Monitoring Team (TPMT) was established in order to monitor the implementation process of the peace agreement within the scope of the Framework Agreement signed in 15 October 2012 in Bangsamoro between the Government of Philippines and Moro Islamic Libration Front.
Being an independent establishment, all expenses of TPMT are met by a fund of European Union. TPMT is having meeting in two months time or when required; an it is monitoring, evaluating and assessing the implementation of the all agreements signed between the two sides especially the Framework Agreement signed in Bangsamoro and its annexes.
