The civil society organizations announced that they came together to launch an aid campaign for Syria across the province.
Representatives from Özgür-Der, Ay-Der, Anatolia Youth Foundation, Humanitarian Relief Association, Memur-Sen, Association to Protect Values of Diyarbakır and İhvan-Der came together for a news conference at a restaurant in Diclekent Boulevard. Speaking on behalf of the organizations, Hasip Yokuş said an administration which neglected law, human rights and justice has ruled Syria over the past 50 years and the country has witnessed many heavy tortures and massacres during this period.
Yokuş said they see it as an Islamic and humanitarian duty to side with the oppressed people no matter who commits acts of tyranny, adding that they launched the aid campaign in Diyarbakır with these thoughts.
He also said donations for the “May our brothers and sisters not feel cold, hunger,” aid campaign they launched across the province for Syrian people can be deposited to the accounts of IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation at Ziraat Bank, which are available in the brochures of the campaign.
The news conference held by “Diyarbakır Brotherhood Initiative for Syria,” ended with the remarks saying,” Our call for help is for all the people who have not lost their humanitarian and Islamic sensitivities and who believe in justice, human rights, freedom and brotherhood.”
The dream of 6-year old Ibrahim Tüser, who is supported under IHH’s Orphan Sponsorship System, to be able to walk, came true with the support of donors.
